The Travel Agents Federation of India (TAFI) was formed in 1951 by leading travel agents to help regulate travel industry in line with best ethics and principles. The main objective of the Association was to protect the interests of its members and to promote orderly growth and development as well as to protect passengers and tourists from unauthorised and unreliable travel agencies and tour companies. Today, it has grown many fold and its membership has reached 2500 members which consist of Active, Associate, Allied and other members
Pacific Asia Travel Association (PATA)
It is internationally acclaimed Association and was founded in 1951. The idea of forming this Association was to act as a catalyst for the responsible development of travel and tourism to, from and within Asia Pacific. Today, the has 97 government, state and city tourism bodies, 27 international airlines, airports and cruise lines, 63 educational institutions, and hundreds of travel industry companies in Asia Pacific and other locations.
Indian Tourist Transporters Association (ITTA)
It is a national body of Transporters who are primarily engaged in tourism segment. One has to be approved by Ministry of Tourism, Government of India to be its member. The main objective of the Association is to provide passenger transport facility to foreign and Indian tourists and to achieve this objective, The Association co-ordinates with various Government Bodies including ministries as well as other trade Associations of travel trade.
The International Air Transport Association (IATA)
It is a trade association of the world’s airlines representing 260 airlines from 117 countries. It has a great influence on air travel because IATA’s member airlines account for approximately 83% of global air traffic. IATA and helps formulate trade policy relating to airlines and air travel.
