International code for India is 91 and then you have to dial area code before telephone number. Most of their Hotels offer direct dialing from the rooms but their changes are much more then if you dial from local telephone booth. In India, telephone codes are not prevalent but there are local telephones booths in all towns, cities and even on highways from where you can easily make local or international calls. There are many telecom companies in India offers GSM digital mobile service and CDMA technology services. It is advisable to check with your network operator if they have agreement with telecom companies in India for their naming status to enable you to use your own telephone number here.
